This might seem confusing at first but yes, your data can be stored as Records or Activities or both on the Hexoskin servers and viewed as such on your Hexoskin Dashboard. So what’s the difference then?
A Record represents all the data that has been recorded by your Hexoskin Device from the second you plug it into your shirt up to the second when you unplug it.
For example, if you plugged the device into your shirt at 9:30 am and unplugged it at 11:30 am, the Record lasts 2 hours and includes all data recorded during that period of time.
Basically, each time you use your Hexoskin, a Record is created and stored on your Hexoskin Device. After data synchronization with Hexoskin OneSync, all the Records can be found on your Hexoskin Dashboard by clicking on the Records tab at the top of the page:
An Activity is simply a part of a Record, that you have conveniently named to "running" or "cycling" or "spinning", "hiking", "soccer", "sleep", etc. in order to remember what you were doing that day at that time.
Let’s take the above record as an example. Say you plugged your device into your shirt at 9:30 am but didn’t get to the park or the gym before 10:00 am and started your stationary bike workout at that point. You finished at 10:45 am but kept the device plugged into your shirt until you got home at 11:30 am. If you sync this data to your Hexoskin Dashboard, you will see a record that lasts 2 hours, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. By clicking on the Activities tab:
You will see your cycling activity lasting 45 min from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. All your cardiac, respiratory and acceleration data displayed will be calculated only on the base of the activity length, 45 min.
Tagging an activity during a recording helps contextualize the data being recorded and allows the Hexoskin servers to calculate relevant metrics to the nature of your activity (for example, a distance travelled for a running activity and the number of steps for a walking activity).
